Know Your Audience Blog Post

When the class did our Know Your Audience discussions I was excited to read what everyone had to say about my if you had a million dollars what would you do with is question. I was really excited to read the  responses because from all of our past discussions and responses I saw that everyone had quit a bit to say about all kinds of things. No one was afraid to speak their minds which I thought was really great. The more discussions that go on the more I am seeing that everyone has more and more to say each time, as do I.
I went in to look at what kinds of responses that I had gotten and I was very surprised to see all of the similar yet different replies because they were some what close to what I would have said myself which was great! I read a lot of things that were fun and touching and I have come to the conclusion  that the audience this semester are a lot alike and we have really closely related thoughts. What I really like about what I had read was that everyone was willing to give a big sum of money up to either help someone in their family or put it to charity. It is really nice to see a whole bunch of kindhearted people.
Knowing what I know about the audience and seeing that we are alike in ways and that they have lots to say about topics and want to interact with each other will impact my writing differently by maybe opening up a little more with my writing and putting down in words what I am thinking instead of second guessing myself and wondering if I say this, what will the audience think.( But like Ms. A said " be careful not to invade your own privacy.")

  1. Good reflection - remember to dig deep to understand your audience and to consider the idea that your audience may have answered the way they thought they should rather than the way they thought. Be specific in your writing and do not be afraid to quote in order to back up what you are saying. ~Ms. A.
